4-17-17 Mentoring

Mentoring for 20 time

       Last week Kaitlyn emailed Mrs.Gibney to figure out if we should use or another staff member of best buddies to mentor us. We will start meeting with them this week to decide when we will go to Michaels to get the craft stuff. We are going to reach out to Belle Canney to mentor us as she is a student, so it will be easier to interact with her. Kaitlyn and I still need to print out the parent permission slips and send them to the best buddies’ families. We hope that by the end of this project we will have been able to let the best buddies at least make one scrapbook personal for them. Hopefully, Belle will be able to help mentor us, so we can get started on the scrapbook. I’d like to be able to have a product of a finished scrapbook to show at the end of the project.

week one 2-2-17

 My partners Kaityn, Caitlynn and I are going to be doing teaching the best buddies how to scrapbook. Our first order of business was getting Mrs Gibneys permission to do this project. She said that this is a great idea. We will work with them Thursdays, Fridays, and during smart time. We think that this an awesome idea because it can help them see the memories and how everyone appreciates them. We’re going to have a bulletin board by Bova's room for them to decorate. We're going to be documenting the process, and going to even take pictures with the finished projects. We will buy their supplies with them at Michael's and let them pick out whatever they'd like. I just want to be able to see them smile and make them happy. They honestly don't get enough credit. They are such a huge part of Kennedy and should get a lot of recognition like the rest of us.
